Asana Mandala: Teaching Multiple Variations of Favorite Poses

According to some of the earliest Hatha Yoga texts there are 84 lakh or 8.4 million asanas! So, clearly, there are lots more to learn. Neuroscience has also demonstrated that greater variation in movement is healthy and can build a greater sense of self and resilience in the nervous system.

If you feel a little bored with the same old routine (or worry that your students are getting a little bored) then this workshop is for you!

You will learn to adapt asanas to help work a certain area of the body, respond to physical limitations, or address injuries.

Learn to teach multiple variations of typical postures including:

  • Mountain
  • Warrior 1
  • Warrior 2
  • Triangle
  • Cobra
  • Sunbird
  • Bridge
  • Supine Twist
  • …and more

We will also work with simple breathing ratios in order to observe the different energetic effects of layering ratios with asana variations.

The weekend will also include Subtle®Yoga signatures: a dharma circle, restorative poses, kirtan, meditation, and self-massage. It will be a great opportunity to build community with like-minded yogis and earn 12 Yoga Alliance CEUs. Yoga Alliance will honor these online hours as contact hours.
